Henkel hosts 2nd hackathon for female entrepreneurs. Henkel’s open innovation and collaboration platform, Henkel dx Ventures, is hosting its second Xathon, a female ideation hackathon. Its goal is to advocate female entrepreneurship, promote innovative ideas and drive gender diversity in the start-up and tech scene. 60 female talents will get the chance to participate in this year’s event, which is taking place virtually.
Taking the trail to the top. Hajime joined Henkel Japan in 1992 as a Product Development Chemist and has risen all the way to lead the Japan General Manufacturing & Maintenance business team. In 27 years with Henkel, he’s worked in four different functions for two different divisions and in two different countries. “My advice to colleagues is to always stay open to change and continue to grow!”, he says.
Sourcing sustainable electricity. Henkel has signed a large-scale virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) relating to a new wind farm in Bee County, Texas. This site will provide all the electricity needed to power Henkel’s operations across its 30+ production sites in the US whilst helping it reach its climate protection targets to become a climate-positive company.
