I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ALDI in Jun 2012
Interview
Followed the store manager around while he showed me the store and asked me questions. It was very distracting, he was constantly interrupted by customers. He told me more about himself than the job. Thankfully I had prior experience or I would have left very confused.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2015
Interview

The manager took my application and told me that his GM will contact me ...... Very unprofessional
I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ALDI (Madison, WI) in Jun 2011
Interview
Very standard. ALDI likes to do mass hiring so they will basically just give you a list of what will be expected for the job and ask few quick questions to feel you out. If they like you you'll get a second interview that will be more detailed. Make it through that and you're hired.

Question 1
All the questions are very strait forward and standard to the industry of retail. Nothing surprising or tricky at all.
