I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI in Aug 2016
Interview
Had to complete an online test before being allowed to submit application. The offered interview at a local store. It was a bit awkward as there was no-one there to meet you, I ended up asking a check out person where I needed to go. I had an interview for deputy store manager, but when I arrived I was told it was a stock assistant interview, as the area manager had enough people from other stores who were ready for promotions, so they were going to get all the deputy store manager jobs. I wished he'd called me and told me this beforehand as I wouldn't have bothered going. I said I was happy to take the job anyway, but he must have seen through me and realised I would use it as a stop gap as he encouraged me to go and apply for their grad scheme instead and wouldn't give me the job.

Interview
After going trough online application, was emailed with choice of interview dates from list, picked the most suitable, but could request more if these weren't suitable for you. All this part done online, so time to think of answers.
Interview was with Store Manager and Area Manager. Very chatty, easy going style, and put me at ease. Explained role, and what interview consisted off.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you want to work for Aldi?
Some competency questions, what would you do if spillages, customer complaint, all tills busy at once, and no-one to help
Small maths test, they left the room. 10 questions, fairly easy, interpreting graphs, working out percentages and addition.
Explanation of next process,if successful, you would be called in for 'Aldi Experience',(again booked online) along with other candidates, comprising Health & Safety briefing, double checking all your personal details, checking uniform sizing, if you have any holidays booked, when the next training session will start based on notice period you need to give your employer, then about 90 minutes or so on shop floor.
Was paired up with experienced assistant, decarded and tidied up shelves in several areas, used the cardboard bailing machine. On the go the whole time (I had booked mine for the evening after a full 10 hour shift at present employment), but it shows you the pace and style of Aldi. Other staff were busy but happy, and all said they enjoyed working there. Management check in on you to see how you are coping. Got my conditional offer of employment through by email before I got home.
Offer is based on having national insurance number, bank account details, 2 references, and next of kin details being provided. They will also carry out a disclosure (pvg) on you to check for any convictions.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Bexhill-on-Sea, England) in Sep 2015
Interview
Firstly I had to answer 20 questions on line about what I would do in certain scenarios ,maths questions which were quite ambiguous . I passed that and then proceeded to write 100 words in each of seven questions. I thought I was back at uni again. These included working as a team. Describing being under pressure etc etc. Why I am the best person for the job.I was contacted a day later by email at 10.30 pm which I thought was quite an unsociable time to be sent an email.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interview was conducted by an area manager who clearly did not have any life experiences. Straight out of uni and trained the Aldi way.The job I applied for was in one location and I got offered an "Aldi experience" day at another location a couple of weeks later, again at 10.30 pm by email . I was to start at seven am in the morning for two hours, and also have the opportunity to try on a uniform.I was also informed at the interview, that I would be required to start work at eleven pm and finish at six am for four days a week, and a couple of days off and then start at six am.This was basically a glorified shelf stacker in charge of a team of two. Hardly managerial and low pay for such unsociable hours at £9.15 an hour.
