There were automated questions which I had to complete prior to being able to be interviewed via telephone. They questioned a variety of things including what would you do in life like situations. I liked that it wasn’t just based on your cv.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Would you help a customer or continue stacking shelves
I applied online. I interviewed at ALDI in Sep 2021
Interview
The interview process starts with an online assessment, asking a few questions about yourself and hypothetical scenarios where you are asked how would you solve and act. The scenarios aren't difficult, as a person that worked in customer service, these are quite basic interactions in day to day life working in retail. Following, I had an interview with the Area Manager, which went smoothly, just as to know me and what type of a person I am, didn't take long. Lastly, there is an interview with the Store Manager of the store you are going to work in, it is more for that person to meet you and for them to show you the store and to meet few of you colleagues, to make the transition smoothly.
I applied online. I interviewed at ALDI (Chelmsford, England) in Mar 2022
Interview
Called to interview at store. Short interview. Applied because of all of the stuff on their recruitment web site about inclusion, thought they would be OK with my Autism. They rejected me because of attributes of my Autism, such as my difficulty in maintaining eye contact. Got banned from applying again, more fool them, I completed my degree and got a first. Now got a job earning many times what I would have done at Aldi. Central HR are impossible to contact. Email contact is ignored. Feedback difficult to get and not routinely given. Very poor, I do not recommend for those with disabilities, they seem to only want to employ staff that fit a standard profile and want to discriminate against everyone else.
