I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ASDA (Bolton, England) in Aug 2016
Interview
Online application with multiple choice questions then invited to group interview. We were put into pairs with questions to ask each other then had to tell the group about the person we had been paired with, we were then split into two groups and given a packet of spaghetti and a packet of marshmallows which we had to make a tower with, this was to see how we interacted with each other. On the whole fairly relaxed and fun, just grin and bear it and participate to get the most from it. a couple of days later had a call for a one to one interview. At one to one interview found there were no home delivery vacancies left only checkout with mimimal hours.

Interview
I applied online, a couple days later had a phone call being invited to the Asda Magic event (Tuesday), I went and there was a group of 16, we sat down in a circle and played bingo (asking questions to each other- fell asleep on a beach, been surfing, been to a different continent etc) then we got put into a group of 4 where we had to pick 4 different promotions with a budget of £2500. And then we had to say what we picked and why, and how much budget we had left. We had to give them our proof of work to photocopy (Ni Number, Birth Certificate, Passport) After this we got taken around the shop and into a section (ours was the bakery) where we had to say what was good and bad about there shelve stacking. For 10 minutes we did this. When finished we got taken back to the room where we told the staff what was good and what was bad about the area we covered. After this we got given our proof of work back and got given a form where we filled out our name, phone number, where we would like to work (first and second), what our availability was and if we had any holiday in the next 12 months and then we had to sign and date, we could go after signing out. Wednesday I had a call of them, asking for me to come in on the following Monday at half 1 for a 1-2-1 interview. Monday came and I was introduced to 2 people, a male and female where one asked me questions and one wrote what I said down. I got asked a couple questions and then was told I would be working on the shop floor for half hour, I was stood at a checkout asking people if they would like help with packing their shopping (Majority said no as they brought there own shopping bags). I was then taken back to the room, asked a couple more questions about the person on the checkout (about customer service and if she was helpful and polite, if she treated customers the same or differently). The man that was asking the questions went out the room as I had holiday the following week. He came back in and said I've been successful with the interview, but because of my holiday I will have to wait to be enrolled. So instead of them advertising more jobs they will call me in and I will be able to enrol and start working. Let's just hope it's not 6 months.
