I applied online. I interviewed at ASDA (Hull, England) in Nov 2013
Interview
Applied online, which involved the usual questions and also uploaded a CV. Invited for group interview/assessment, which was followed by an individual interview on the same day. The group assessment involved team building activities, as well as watching general videos on ASDA as a company.
Was offered a different role to the one I originally applied for, however the new role was permanent, so was better.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ASDA (Fulwood, England) in Apr 2016
Interview
Fairly easy interview. Especially good for newbies.
Applied about 2 weeks ago. I had to attend the Asda Magic assessment day yesterday. They also interviewed yesterday as well.
Firstly, we went into a room and there were 9 of us for the day. The room included 4 observers which are exactly what you think.
The staff introduced themselves and then we were put into groups of 2/3 and had to discuss bits about you with your partner. You then had to present your partner to the group.
The followed with a short vt about asda.
We then we're put into groups again for a group exercise. We had to build something out of marshmallows and spaghetti and then present it to the group.
After this we 'had a go' at the type of work you'd do.
This then followed with a fairly informal interview.
There is a strong emphasis on team work and communication throughout.
One thing that did disappoint me was that we were given a piece of paper which outlined what happens after the interview. In a nutshell it sais you'd receive one of 3 emails. The first being you were successful, the second you were a silver medallist and lastly you were a Magic Reject (unsuccessful). I think it's really harsh to call someone a reject who may have been working for years to try and get a job. A company who States they have high regard for its employees should not question a persons worth. Ever!

Interview
I applied for Asda at 00:20 and got a call the same day at 16:45 asking me to come in for an interview. I went in to a group interview with 14 people all together and 5 asda colleagues. First of all one of the colleagues introduced herself and the other colleagues. Then we were told to talk to the person next to us and ask them what they do for work or education, why they want to work for Asda and where they want to travel to and why. We then had to say the answers to the group. After that we gave our right to work documents to a colleague and filled out health screening and availability forms. After we had done that we were split into groups of 3/4 and went on the shop floor. We were told to write down things to show that Asda care about their customers. When we got back to the interview room we had to nominate a spokes person to tell the group 10 of the things that we found. We were all invited to a one-to-one interview as there were 14 of us and 9 of us would be hired. The interview lasted 6 hours in total.
The next day I went in for a one-to-one interview and it was more of a chat with my section leader than a formal interview. She wrote down my answers and I was told I would get a call over the weekend (my interview was on a Thursday). The interview later around 25 minutes.
I got a call on the Saturday asking me to come in for an induction on Monday where we watched videos, filled in forms and got our uniforms. I started on checkouts the following day.
