Absolute shambles. I applied online and got an interview invitation the next day asking me to come in the following day. Went in and it was a free for all, around 10 other candidates all in the canteen, nobody seemed to know what they were doing. We got allocated somebody to buddy with and went down onto the shop floor and 'had a go' at whatever job role we had applied for- so for me was replenishment. The shop floor staff were lovely and I had great feedback from them. Was told I would be there for 15-20 mins, over an hour later got called back to the main interview area. Absolutely no questions asked, got given an availability sheet and uniform size sheet and was told I would receive an email soon with my induction date. A week later I had a call asking me to come in for a trial shift (unpaid), I was there for 30 minutes and they said 'Oh you already had a go on the shop floor last week did you? You can go then', again with no information on a start date. All staff were saying to me that they are terrible with recruitment and they were so short staffed. I heard NOTHING for 3 weeks so decided to call them and they said they would get back to me. After another week I got a rejection email. I was absolutely baffled. After turning down other job interviews because I was under the impression that I had secured this one as they told me I had. All I got was a generic rejection email, saying that my availability wasn't suitable despite fulfilling the advertised availability. Absolutely terrible hiring process and would not recommend this specific branch to anyone. Nobody on the management team had a clue what they were doing and never got a reply on email from any of them either. Terrible.
