Describe a challenging even and how you handled it?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AbbVie in Feb 2022
Interview
An Abbvie recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. After an introductory meeting with the recruiting manager, and after I presented my work to their team, they scheduled 6 interviews with 8 interviewers in a row in a day without any breaks! Some of the slots were overlapping (so I had to contact them to make them fixed), and some of the interviewers did not show up. During the conversation and in response to one of my questions regarding external collaborations, the interviewer (a manager) said a guy with a similar role in their team has to be up at 3 am to exchange files with their collaborators in France! This was a red flag for the work-life balance at Abbvie that does not seem to be OK based on other reviews here. Some of the interviewers were weird and unprofessional. A manager (a lady that was working remotely from home due to covid) showed up w/ a bib apron and her dog was barking throughout the interview! Another manager was asking for a guarantee that I will not leave Abbvie if I get a better offer!!! Another interviewer was blaming me for a research project at my current company which is one of the leaders in med tech!!! Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I decided to not leave my current job for a role with lots of negative signs.
