I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Sunnyvale, CA) in Mar 2021
Interview
The interview process was fairly standard but I want to highlight their insane waiting period when an offer is not given. I applied for another role with an Amazon subsidiary and they told me I was on a 2 year waiting period! This is absolutely ABSURD. I have never heard of such a ridiculous hiring policy especially since I have worked with 2 other very large tech companies. I can understand the reasoning for not hiring someone for various reasons but to have a candidate wait 2 years before applying for another role is outrageous and limits the potential for candidates to find the right team.
For Pete's sake, Amazon, get a grip.

Question 1
Think about a time when you used your technical knowledge to turn a struggling project around, or catch and mitigate a significant technical risk. What was your thought process, and what did you do to change the course of this project for the better?

Phone screen proceeded with onsite (aka remote) interviews. Typically about 4-6 onsite interviewers for the loop. Interview questions are asked with the expectation that you respond to them in STAR format.

Good interview. I didn't clear it though but it was a great experience, polite interviewer and ontime feedback. They communicated the process well. Looking forward for the opportunity from Amazon in future
