Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1-2 hours online assestment, very realistic to day-to-day job tasks
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Amazon (London, England) in Sep 2024
Interview
I had a first round interview for a Senior Program Manager role. It was an hour and conducted virtually with a member of the team I was applying for. The questions were relatively basic about experience and projects I'd worked on. I was told there would be a further 5 hour-long interviews plus a written test if I were successful at this round, which is a huge number! I was given no feedback at all on why I hadn't been successful, which was disappointing.

Question 1
Tell me about a project you've worked on and challenges you came up against?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Oct 2024
Interview
I applied for a role at Amazon and was considered for another role. I was sent a link to complete the Amazon Online assessment. Look up Amazon assessments on YouTube to hack this. After the assessment, the recruiter reached out to me to let me know that I would be interviewing with the hiring manager and then the loop interview with 5 leaders. The recruiter also sent over materials to guide me on answering the questions and had a 30-minute session discussing various ways to answer the questions. Amazon is big on the STAR (Situation, Task, Action and Result) model for answering questions and they ask behavioural-based questions, which align with their 16 leadership principles. Also, there is a lot of useful material on YouTube on how to answer these questions. I had an interview with the hiring manager, where he explained that he would ask me behavioural questions in line with Amazon's Leadership principles and I would use the STAR method to answer them. The interview was meant to last for 1 hour, but the interviewer was done in 30 minutes. He asked me if I had any questions to ask and I asked a few questions regarding the role and what was expected of who they were hiring. 30 minutes after my interview, I got an email to notify me of the outcome of the interview, and I was told that I was not selected to move forward. The Recruiter also did not have any useful feedback as to why I was not selected. Overall, it was an opportunity to learn how to use the STAR method, which I will be adopting going forward.
