I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Apr 2022
Interview
Preparation by pre-screener was very specific and detailed. When asked about what was the challenge about placement - the role had been "open" for over six months" - the pre-screener implied that the two people hiring for the position "had not found the right person". During the interview, it was clear that they were not looking for a Sales Enablement Product Manager as much as it seemed like they were on a scouting mission to define new opportunities. 40 minutes were just probing on markets that I had worked in, while the remaining 20 minutes were very generic "CARD" situations. Obviously, I did not get the role, but the Amazon algorithm would recommend the next iteration for the role ... another six more times: they had re-scoped the position at least seven times. They were not serious about finding a placement as much as they were seeking domain expertise for new market entry.
Very proactive recruiter throughout the whole process to help prep for every step. The first round of interviews had a really nice and smooth experience. Most of the questions are behavior-based and not pretending to be smart and test out your PM skills.
