I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon Web Services
Interview
The interview process was fairly extensive, however I found throughout the process I got a really good understanding about AWS and if the role was the best fit for me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interviewers were interested in why you want to work for AWS.
I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon Web Services in Mar 2022
Interview
Only professional questions. Treating you like a money making machine, not interested in your soft skills. Data driven. Don’t see the bigger picture. Very impersonal. Tricky questions. Too many rounds of interviews
The interview process, beginning with the recruiter was disorganized with inconsistent communication. I was given 24 hours to prepare something that I should have been given 2-3 weeks to prepare for because the recruiter forgot to provide me with the case study. It was only after I inquired that it was sent to me. The interviews lasted 9 straight hours in one day and culminated with a "bar raiser" that was a Sr. Engineer from a totally different part of the business. He started asking very technical engineering/coding questions that had nothing to do with the role I was interviewing. Ultimately, the "bar raiser" has full veto power and although I received 5 out of 5 reviews from every other person I met with, they had to pass. My friend was on that team and told me that they went through 40+ candidates in 18 months and couldn't fill the role due to the bar raiser process.
