Glassdoor users rated their interview experience at American Express as 100% positive with a difficulty rating score of 2.5 out of 5 (where 5 is the highest level of difficulty). Candidates interviewing for Travel Consultant and rated their interviews as the hardest, whereas interviews for Travel Consultant and roles were rated as the easiest.
Interview process consisted of 5 rounds. None of the rounds were difficult and they tested actual knowledge of skills that would be used daily instead of CS fundamentals. The interviewers were kind and didn't come off as hostile. They seemed like they really wanted to work with you.

Many questions were about CSS and HTML. For example, how to style using sibling selectors.
First interview was with 2 engineers each 30 minute interviews . For me it was 1 with the tech lead the other with a senior dev . Tech lead did not want to be there and did not care.
