I had an on campus interview with American Express at my university. The day consisted of two 45 minute interviews with current AMEX professionals. Interview was relatively relaxed. Both interviewers were friendly and the entire interview felt much more like a conversation than an interview. Both interviewers spent the first 10 minutes making small talk before the questions began.
I was contacted by a recruiter who informed me that I had been selected to participate in the first round interview process. The first round consisted of two 30 minute phone interviews which were both very casual and very relaxed. Focused on mostly behavioral and 1 situational question and wanted to know if I knew the basics of the American Express's business.

Initial two 30 minute interview with two team members! Very polite and nice! Basically behavioral and some what would you do questions!
A HR member calls you to notify you of whether you are selected for the next phase or not. They call you to even let you know that they have decided to not continue with your application which is nice but also gets your hopes up!
