Interview
HR phonescreen followed by Technical phonescreen. Technical phonescreen taken by 3 team members. Asked questions on ATE , Test Compression, Boundary Scan , Simulators and few questions on projects on resume. No onsite interview.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Arm (Cambridge, East of England, England) in Sep 2012
Interview
Interview consists of an off-line programming exercise which is not too focused on advanced algorithms but does test your overall skill in application design, optimisation strategy and researching on specialised algorithms (e.g., pixel format conversion). Having passed the exercise you get a phone interview with 2 other employees: questions focus on picking out problems in the code you submited and the stuff in your CV that are relevant to the job. The final interview takes place in their HQ which lasts about 3.5 hours. Each session is 1 hour long (with the exception of the last one -30 minutes with an HR staff member) which comprises short programming exercises, discovering bugs in code snippets, proposing optimisation potentials, analysing system design from a diagram, etc.
Best thing about the whole interview was that you have a chance to show off your last projects which may generate very good initial impression.
