The interview was a technical discussion with two engineers from the performance analysis/architecture team. It started with an introduction to the team’s work, focusing on SoC performance modeling, validation, and lifecycle analysis from design to silicon.
After that, I was asked to introduce myself and walk through my background. The interview then transitioned into a mix of:
Deep technical questions (computer architecture, cache, pipelines)
Debugging scenarios (very detailed and iterative)
Project-based discussions (my past work and simulators)
Behavioral and problem-solving questions
The discussion was interactive, with follow-up questions based on my answers. The interviewers often guided the conversation deeper into concepts to evaluate my thinking process rather than just final answers.
The interview was quite challenging and heavily focused on computer architecture fundamentals and debugging mindset. The interviewers emphasized how I think and approach problems rather than just correctness.
Overall Experience
It felt more like a collaborative technical discussion than a standard Q&A, but they did push deeper whenever answers lacked precision.
