It was a short 30 minute Teams meeting to check my skillset for the vacant role. I had presented my research experience briefly, followed by questions from the group leader. The second part of the meeting was questions from end about the subsequent recruitment process and the responsibilities of the role.

The first interview is a screening process in which they determine expected salary, your soft skills, and ability to talk about yourself. From then, it is followed by interview with the team leader, which focuses on the more specific technical aspect of the role and is dependent on the Scientist position you applied for.
