Interview
First round consisted of two tests: one quantitative to measure likely performance on series 7, the second to test sales personality. Second round met with two hiring directors, who requested a presentation of a personal business plan. Third round, met with rest of team. Last interview met with office manager.
I applied online. I interviewed at Bank of America (Northport, NY) in May 2026
Interview
3 rounds of interviews: one with a recruiter, one with a market leader, and one with a regional director. Heavily focused on behavioral questions, working with people, and being able to convert leads from referrals. The questions were not necessarily technically challenging as much as they were designed to test if you were someone who could work well with people and sell.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me to roleplay a cold call as if I was still working at my previous job (where cold calling was common). The market leader asked me what I thought I did well and what I though I could have done better. He then gave me his own opinion.

the hiring manager provided a series of rapid fire questions about behavioral situations. we roled played an interaction between advisor and client. the main focus was on how do you interact with the clients who will come into the branch. focus on getting to know the client first to determine what products they would be interested in. the role is big on sales not much financial planning. you will be expected to offer other services in the branch such as opening accounts and loan referrals
