The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Barclays in Dec 2009
Interview
Round 1
Verbal and numeracy test. Not very hard if you practice SHL before that
Round 2
Phone Interview by HR. Questions such as why investment banking? Why Barclays Capital? Why do you think you are suited for this role ? What is your weakest quality and why? What kind of risks do you take?
Round 3
Super day at assessment centre: Case Study + an individual presentation. Case Study looked at a client's potential acquisition of a mining company. There is a tendency for assessors to ask about reputation risk, so if you can, prepare sth in advanced abt that. 2 individual interviews. More of a get to know you session and abit of technical competency questions. But nothing really hard. Finished up with a group interview. More of a teamwork thing but be prepared to speak up eloquently. You don't need to give right answers but try to explain your point in detail if possible.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Barclays (New York, NY) in Jan 2010
Interview
First round interview on campus, second round in New York. Individual was very sales focused and a little dry. The fallout from Lehman has clearly impacted the company and they are hiring. Individual was pretty straight forward and did not ask difficult questions.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Barclays (London, England) in Nov 2009
Interview
This was the second round for the MBA full time program. After two great interviews (and outstanding interviewers) during the first round, I had the interview with the head of the desk... This guy had me over the phone for barely 15 minutes, called late and asked only 2 questions... I don't understand why even took the time to make the interview if it was going to be this way...
