After submitting my resume on LinkedIn, I was contacted via email by a recruiter from Barracuda within about 30 minutes. We scheduled an initial phone interview for later that day. There was very little technical discussion in this first interview. Another phone interview was scheduled for later in the week.
The second phone interview was conducted by engineering management and was more technical than the first. A few simple questions about RDBMS and similar CS mainstays came up, but the majority was a discussion of my profession experience.
Over the next week, I had two in person interviews with engineering managers. While there was no programming practical or graded test, there were many specific technical questions, including interpreting code written in a language I was unfamiliar with. The interviewer later told me they intentionally select a language that the candidate doesn't have much experience in.
I was not asked to provide professional references until the next week. Shortly after my references were contacted, the recruiter called and made his offer.
