I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy (Terre Haute, IN) in Jun 2012
Interview
Applied online and they called me for a first interview in the same day. I felt I did pretty well, I was nervous because it took them around 2 weeks to finally call back for a second interview. I was asked the general questions and what was generally expected of me. The store manager actually liked the answers to my questions so they bumped me straight into the 3rd right there. He told me that we had to do a role-play and we shared some small-talk about our educational backgrounds. Honestly, I didn't do well at the role-play. It was my first sales job and I was extremely nervous, but the manager showed me some techniques right then and there and they gave me a chance. I was then asked to work as part of their team and accepted the job right there.

Question 1
I honestly don't remember. The interview was generally not too hard.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (West Palm Beach, FL) in Aug 2012
Interview
I applied online and within a few days I was contacted by phone by someone in HR. She asked a few standard questions. Why do you want to work at Best Buy? What is your retail experience? Tell me about your past 5 years job history and what your job duties entailed. I was told I would be called back and have an appt set up to have a 1:1 meeting in the store within 4 days. I received a call 2 days later and actually missed it. There was no voicemail left but I knew the number. I took the initiative and called it back and asked to speak with the person in charge of hiring, stating that I was supposed to be setting up an interview time with her. They put me through and I was scheduled an interview for an hour and a half later. I was on time and only had to wait about 15 mins or so for my interview. I met with two managers for a panel interview (it was just me) and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. We made a little small talk and got into the interview. They asked a lot of situational questions, "What would you do if", "How did you handle this", "Tell me about a time when". The whole process took about an hour and I was told that i would be contacted within the week to be let know if I was going to go onto the next interview process, which was with the GM. I made sure to ask about what the pay rate was. They said it ranges from $9 to $12 an hour to start depending on experience and that all the positions they hire for are part time. They rarely hire full time outside the company. They like to promote from within. Make sure to make good eye contact, smile and be as relaxed as possible. Be honest with them. I let them know I was a bit nervous and they were completely understanding. :)
If you are busy in your section and you are with a customer and have others waiting, how do you know if they are wanting to buy or if they are just looking?
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (Houston, TX) in Jul 2012
Interview
In order to become an employee at Best Buy you must successfully pass through three interviews. The first interview is held with the Assistant Manger, second step is a random phone interview, with a Best Buy hiring manger, and the last interview is with the General Manger. On your last interview the General manger will give you a date they will call back if they are interested in hiring you. Also, it might depend on the the Best Buy location you've applied to. It took two weeks to get a call back from Best Buy. A Best Buy employee called and asked for my availability to schedule a meeting with the General Manger to finalize the process before obtaining the job. Finally the General Manger will offer you a job and tell you your starting pay with Best Buy. The GM makes you sign required documents and gives you a pre-employment drug test packet to take to the drug test location in order to get officially hired . If you pass the drug test you will be called in for a Best Buy orientation and later go into taring with BB. After you finish all of their requirements you are ready to go and start working!
