I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Best Buy (Cuyahoga Falls, OH) in Nov 2008
Interview
This was my first job out of high school, so I went in to the store and they told me to apply online. I did, and the next day, I got a call from one of the store's managers. She asked me if I would be able to come in the next day to have a one on one interview. I said yes, and did. I met with the sales manager. He asked me some basic questions about home theater (since that was my department of choice), like 'what is the downside of full-screen DVDs?', 'what is the difference between dolby surround and dolby digital?' Do a little research on the department you want to work. You don't need to know much to start--you'll learn quickly. But learn what cameras are popular, learn what computers are selling, know your TV-makers. It'll make you versatile.
It went well, and I was called back for a second interview a week later. I interviewed with the sales manager again. He told me that normally, I'd have a third interview with the general manager, but that he was going to extend me an offer right then. I took it, and so it went.

Interview
I put in an application online about 3 weeks ago. I had not yet received a call, so on Sunday night I went in and talked to one of the managers, asking if he had seen my application. So he went in the back and got mine, looked over it for a second and then just asked me, why bust buy, and another about my availability. Then he told me to come in Tuesday for an interview with the manager of the sales department. So I got there 30 minutes early, which they liked. Then my interview started right on time. He asked me to tell him about myself. I did, then he pulled out a folder with pages of interview questions. He asked: Tell me about a time when you set a goal, but did not achieve it, and how did you handle that? Give an example of a time when you gave great customer service. Describe a time when you had an angry customer, what did you do to handle that, and what was the outcome? What is 'Great customer service' to you?
That's all that I can remember. He also for some reason or another, skipped an entire page of interview questions, thank God! So interview ended, he said they had to interview about 5 more people, they would hire 2 of the 5, and would call in the next few days to set up another interview. Well that was Tuesday, two days later, I received a call telling me my final interview with the GM would be the next day. So thats where im at, the interview is a couple hours away. I'll let ya know what happens..
