It was a simple video interview. Mostly fit and qualitative questions. Just stay calm and look at the webcam. Be in your best attire and find a well-fitted space.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Singapur) in Jun 2018
Interview
I went through 1) an initial phone screening interview with HR, 2) an on-site interview with the Global Data Team Leaders and then 3) an on-site interview with the Global Data Country Manager.
Everything was good from the initial application submission to the conclusion of my 2nd interview with the team leaders - fast responses after each stage, friendly people as well as good feedback.
Thereafter, I had to wait 3 weeks for 3rd round of interview. At first, HR confirmed a 3rd interview for me to attend 1 week after my 2nd interview but 1 hour or so later, I was told that the interviewer would be overseas and I had to reschedule my interview with her. Offered to then push forward my interview to before she travels but was turned away.
When I finally got to have my 3rd round of interview after 3 weeks, the interviewer was disinterested. While I was answering my questions, the interviewer was playing with her lanyard etc. She was also less friendly/warm compared to he HR and Team Leaders I spoke with previously.
Her general attitude and mood during the interview was bad in my opinion and made me feel like she had already found a candidate/has a particular type of candidate in mind to hire. Shockingly, she also used a swear word to answer a question I had at the end of the interview. Though the swear words weren't directed at anyone and used for general speaking, I found it odd/unprofessional for someone of that seniority in a firm to loosely used such words in an interview.
After this interview, I followed up once with HR and was promised feedback after a week. 2 follow-up emails later over the next 2 weeks, I was ignored. Finally after 3 weeks, I got an automated rejection email.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is your understanding of this position?
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Went through video and phone interviews, mostly competency based questions. Assessment centre was purely skill based. Went through different rounds that tested on things like basic excel, process improvement, and ended with a group case study.
