The whole recruiting process at Bloomberg was a very enjoyable experience. I was connected to the company via a recruiter I met at a conference who suggested I apply, which resulted in a phone screening. The screening involved some behavioral questions, but was mostly focused on a single medium-sized algorithms problem, which I did on a collaborative text editor online. Following that, I was invited to NYC for an interview day, which was a great experience in and of itself. I was taken on an office tour, I had behavioral interviews with an HR person and a senior engineering manager, and two 1+ hour coding interviews. Everyone at Bloomberg is super nice and welcoming, which made both the coding part and asking questions a lot easier.
