1. Initial HR telephonic round related with current work, family status, moving out to a different country.
2. Telephonic interview with screen share.
The browser based tool used to share the screen stopped working couple of times due to too many simultaneous users.
Interview questions:
a. Basic questions about web/INTERNET/HTTP
b. Specify T-SQL schema for a movie review site
c. Basic T-SQL queries to get ranking/rating for specific movies based on genre
I guess the interveiwer expectation was to move towards NoSQL store with varied meta-data associated with Movie-content
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A classic old question about describing what happens when user enters a url in browser.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Booking.com (Amsterdam) in Jun 2017
Interview
From the time of initial contact & sorting out the travel documents, the HR team are very helpful, friendly & responsive.
They take care of almost everything travel, lodging(only breakfast), It would've have been nice to have supper @ the hotel too.
All the Interviewers were quite friendly, I got a small office to spend my time in & the interviews were conducted in there.
The thing I appreciate the most is that proximity of the interviewers because of the small office. It may seem like a small thing but sitting around a small table made a huge difference to my experience. Another thing is that the interviewers came to see me instead of the other way around made me feel waay more comfortable and all the jitters went away & I left the interview with no regrets.
So even when I got turned down It was because I wasn't the person they were looking for & not because I botched the interview.

Question 1
Interview with HR person asking you about yourself and your readyness to move & your expectations of the job.
Interviewer was friendly & answered all the questions I had.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Booking.com in May 2017
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter from booking directly. I first had a phone call with hr who explained what the positions was about, what they were looking for, what they were offering. Then we discuss about my experience to see if I could fit in. The second round was a technical interview with two data scientists. They again checked that my experience was relevant and then there was a business case. It was more a discussion to understand how I would approach the problem than a true examination. Everybody was incredibly nice and do everything to make you confortable. The whole process took less than three weeks. After each round I received a clear feedback.
