1) Submitted resume via online application tool, was contacted 2 weeks later to schedule first round. Received detailed instructions about the interview process do's and don'ts. Very friendly HR person, another friendly consultant with a similar background called one week before the actual interview to make sure everything was ok, answer any questions I might have - great help, appreciate the effort.
2) 2 interviews with consultants at the firm (similar backgrounds as me). 1 hour interviews.
Fit questions: Why management consulting, why BCG, most memorable achievement (both interviewers asked these questions)
Case interviews on profit decline and growth strategies, nothing unexpected - easier than the online cases on the BCG website.
Very qualitative discussions, few calculations (definitely less than in prep books). No maths at all in the second case.
Interviewer helped through the case, provided suggestions about possible paths to investigate
Had the possibility to ask questions about the firm at the end of both interviews.
Very friendly interviewers. Received their bio before the interview which helped me see which things we might have in common, facilitated discussions a lot
3) received negative feedback from one of the interviewers: case went well, but fit/q&a part "lasted too long because I was talking too much"...should have had a more structured way of going through past experiences, Q&A, etc...
A bit unexpected as I specially asked them if it was ok to exceed the interview time (I had many questions) and they both said yes.
Overall, a good experience that ended with a strange feedback...
