Good process in general, first HR, then with a partner and then with a technical manager. Last two were focused in biz and data science
The only thing I found bad was that they didn't call back from last interview, no feedback, no news about the position, so I just assumed I didn't pass
Went through 7 rounds of interviews with this company. They flew me out to Boston for the 7th interview. Told me that I needed an 8th to follow up again and then told me that I wasn’t qualified for the position...seems they should have known that going into the 1st interview. Especially since they chose to interview me for a position that I hadn’t even applied to.
They also kept moving the goalpost on number of travel days a week and walking back promises throughout the interview process.
I applied online. I interviewed at Boston Consulting Group (East Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
The process was long, the interviewers were mostly professional. An upfront tech screen followed by 2 case interviews (1 technical and 1 business). The final onsite had 3 interviews with lead data scientists.
To be honest, I did not think very much of the final round, which was, for a lack of better expression, weird. I did not feel like they asked important data science questions and nor did I feel like they could accurately gauge or cared to gauge a candidate's caliber. I sat down with one who went through my hitherto unread resume with me, awkwardly, focusing on the wrong things. Another interviewer was tired from flying in on a red-eye, and did not seem to care about what I was saying, and claimed he was hungry during the interview and was dying to get to his lunch. I left the interview feeling like it was not a culture fit and I wasn't convinced they were doing interesting work.
