I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Canva (Austin, TX) in Jul 2024
Interview
It was pretty simple, 3 interviews. They gave you all the information you needed. Everyone was nice and the recruiters were great.
I interviewed once and didn't get the role, but they suggested I apply for a different one. I applied and again interviewed for that new role. I used the feedback I was given to learn from my previous experience and presented that way. Ultimately I was turned down a second time. I left the process feeling like I didn't know what they wanted in an AE.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What part of the Canva pillars do you resonate with the most?
First Screening Interview:
The initial screening was conducted by a recruiter from Canva. Despite the recruiter not responding to my emails beforehand, they were professional and engaged during the interview itself. At the end of the conversation, I was asked five technical questions, such as "What will this print out?" The questions were relatively simple and focused on assessing basic coding skills.
First Technical Interview:
In the first technical interview, the interviewer presented a coding task verbally. Unlike typical interviews where the problem is written down, this one required me to listen carefully and understand the requirements based solely on the spoken instructions. This added a layer of difficulty, as I had to ensure I fully grasped the task without any written reference.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Canva in May 2023
Interview
Well we had the initial interview where they asked me about my background and experience. When I passed the initial interview, they told me there was a second part of the interview process was a challenge. They gave me something for me to do and I have to deliver it based on the deadline they provided. Then, if they liked it, they will hire you
