The test usually includes a mix of algorithmic, coding, and potentially some machine learning-specific problems. In my case, the test was mostly easy, with one difficult question. They expect near-perfect scores to move forward, especially given Canva’s competitive environment.

Interview
Canva has a great product, but they seem to be struggling with their move into the Enterprise space. Their recruiters are nice, but the long hiring process feels like a waste of time. I love the product, but unless they change their toxic positive approach, I’m not sure they’ll make it in the Enterprise market. The interview process is as follows Recruiter interview, manager, panel w/peers (waste of time) and a presentation that I’m sure is to their advantage and they get to keep all of your ideas. Sounds like a scam.

Interview
Interview lasted exactly 3 minutes until the interviewer realised I had no production Java experience. Though it was listed as one of the desired skills in the job ad it wasn't specified as necessary, and my application specifically called out that it wasn't something I had (though I did have plenty of experience with other high-level languages).
