I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Canva (Sydney) in Feb 2022
Interview
So after going through the interview I understand why their interview process is so negatively rated on Glassdoor.
The interviews are really easy. For me it was 4 rounds.
I honestly would recommend anyone not to go ahead with their interview process until and unless you really want to work for the company. There is no learning involved and at end you feel that your time was wasted.
I got the rejection after a week. When I asked for specific feedback what I received was vague statements like:
1. Could've been better in discussions.
2. Could've been better in managing time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. A screening round which was an easy machine coding round.
2. A algorithmic round which was an hour discussion on BFS.
3. A machine coding round to fix tests and discuss design around user experiments.
4. An algorithmic discussion regarding conway's game of life.
Their recruiter sent me a message with a code challenge link to a platform called "HackerRank".
I was supposed to solve a "find contiguous sub-array" problem in 60 minutes. I make it pass in 7 test scenarios out of the 10 in less than 60 minutes, so I decided to just submit it as it is.
2 days later I received an automatic message from HackerRank saying that I didn't meet the requirements for the job. So I replied to the e-mail with the recruiter in copy and they didn't reply.
After one week, I sent another e-mail asking for feedback in order to understand what could be better.
I received a response like "All I receive from HackerRank is that you didn't get a high enough score to pass the test. Sorry mate, good luck on your job search!"
Are you guys really basing your recruitment process on "scores" of a 60-minute puzzle? That is so 80s... I thought at least I would have more serious feedback or another round of discussion so other aspects of my experiences got analyzed.
That hiring process is so broken, that if I already have had solved this very problem before, you wouldn't even notice and I would pass with a maximum score. That is pointless.

Question 1
Solve a pointless puzzle-ish algorithm in 60 minutes on HackerRank
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Canva (Sydney) in Apr 2020
Interview
Disastrous interview experience for both sides:
First screening interview (20min total) - The interviewer started the conversation by making clear that other technical positions were more important than the one I was applying.
After being asked to be honest and disclose what I have on the table, they got angry to know that I have other offers and made it clear that I should not waste their time going any further.
