I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Co-op (Exeter, England) in Aug 2023
Interview
The interview was pretty easy and standard. They asked general questions about customer assistant management, roles, responsibilities, commitments, and visions. I would recommend everyone to do thorough research, be familiar with the brand/company, and try to answer the questions in about 3-4 sentences. Don't shy away from showing who you are.

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Co-op (Emsworth, England) in Aug 2023
Interview
The interview was as expected, I was introduced to the store manager, who kindly led me to a room to conduct the interview, I was asked a serious of standard questions, followed by some that were more pertaining to working at a Coop. I had time to ask any questions that were relevant and was provided with all necesary information. I was given time to prepare and plan for the interview before it happened.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Co-op (Northwich, England) in Jun 2023
Interview
Having done my research I attended the interview prepared, expecting to be asked the questions in the 5 key areas. I arrived for my interview to be told the shop manager had been called away at short notice. It was then decided after some discussion that a team leader would do the interview. We went to an office where he said to me "I've not done an interview before, just give us a minute I need to phone somebody up to find out what questions to ask you!!". From that moment on I knew this wasn't going to go very well. He came back looking completely lost and asked me why I want to join the Co-op. After giving my reply the interview was over. He asked for my availability, which I provided but also gave him more information about my background as I thought it would be good for him to know since he never asked about it. Having worked within emergency services and currently working in retail I am more than qualified to take up this position, but because the interview was poorly conducted I never had a fair chance. The interview should have been rearranged and conducted when the manager was there. The interview was supposed to last a hour I was there for 10 mins, I felt more of an inconvenience than a potential candidate for the job. The whole experience was pretty disappointing as I had high expectations that the coop would be an excellent employer.
