I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Co-op (Bristol, England) in Aug 2018
Interview
Telephone interview was the start of process. 2 weeks later I was called and this was followed by a competency based interview and presentation.
It was very straight forward and I was interviewed by an area manager and current store manager so was very relevant.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Co-op (London, England) in Jul 2018
Interview
Interview itself was okay.
The reason for the negative review is the appalling recruitment team.
Communication is abysmal, they have no consideration for a candidate's availability and do not let you know about the outcome even after face-to-face interviews, despite being pressed for an update several times.
They have also mistakenly sent me rejection emails on 3 separate occasions only to admit after contacting them that these were in error. Offering no apology or assurances.
I was eventually offered a position and decided to reject the co-op on this basis.
It does not reflect well on the management of this company and attitude towards its potential staff.
Applied online, received a text about a week later saying I’d been processed to the next stage of the recruitment process and to call the co-op team. The phone call was short and consisted of basic questions about hours I could work etc. I then received an email a few days later to book an appointment through an online system for a face to face interview that I had been selected for. This also included an interview pack of some of the questions to expect. The interview itself was very informal and the manager was lovely. I got a phone call to offer me the job 2 weeks later.
