I applied online. I interviewed at Cognizant (Des Moines, IA) in Aug 2017
Interview
Brief phone interview then a follow up with someone on site. Casual atmosphere and brief tour of the corporate office. I received an offer letter by email from Jade Song and filled out new hire paperwork online. Completed drug panel and background check and was advised of orientation in two weeks. A few days before I reached out to the HR rep by email as I had not received any information on the time and location of orientation. She responded " I thought our background check team had reached out to let you know that you failed the background check. I left you a voicemail last week to connect. Can you give me a call?" I called and got no answer, no voicemail option. I emailed twice and got no response. No one reached out to me at any point via email or voicemail (which she claimed to have left). I had a shoplifting charge when I was 18 and can understand being rejected, but the lack of communication was incredibly unprofessional and almost left me unemployed ask had put in notice at my prior workplace. A year late I keep getting emails about job openings despite four separate requests to be removed from the mailing list.
