The hiring process at Deel takes an average of 5 days when considering 2 user submitted interviews across all job titles. Candidates applying for Backend Engineer had the quickest hiring process (on average 5 days), whereas Backend Engineer roles had the slowest hiring process (on average 5 days).
I was initially told by the recruiter that I was a great fit for the role, both before and during our screening call. However, the interview was postponed just a few hours before, and when it finally happened, the energy was flat and the conversation felt unengaging. Next day, I was informed I wouldn't proceed because they were looking for someone with HR SaaS experience—despite being told my SaaS background made me a perfect fit. The feedback felt more like a generic excuse than a transparent explanation. Overall, the process felt inconsistent and disappointing.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Deel
Interview
Probably the smoothest process I have been a part off. Very fast responses, very clear process, everyone was really nice and all interviews felt more like a conversation that, well, an interview. There were quite a few rounds but due to fast response time it took less than a month overall, so pretty good. Plus except usual "why this role/company" questions didn't overlap so it didn't feel repetitive.
I was invited to an initial interview, and the first available time wasn't until 2 weeks later.
The recruiter who interviewed me seemed very unengaged in the conversation, and didn't foster a very welcoming environment. Many of my questions were met with very vague answers, and not enough time was allocated for me to ask more information about the role and company.
They also told me to expect regular overtime without being able to answer how much or even an average, just that it "wasn't a typical 9 to 5". To me this just shows signs of a company that is not willing to respect your time.
I was not invited back for the next round.
