The workload, deadlines and SLA expectations are extremely high and unrealistic. Considering number of hours I ended up working, the compensation didin’t feel adequate at all. There is constant pressure from every direction, but very few proper tools or support structures to handle the workload efficiently. (At least in my team) there was also a lack of experienced specialists, which often forced me to work outside my scope.
Professional development is also very poor. There are no real trainings to help employees stay up to date in their profession or continue growing professionally. Most trainings are only about internal platform/process changes. What frustrated me the most was that management seemed fully aware of many operational problems, rushed releases, unstable processes, burnout, and constant pressure, yet nothing was done to make the environment more stable, sustainable, or quality focused
For me, the worst parts of working at Deel were the extreme pressure, nonexistent employee care, lack of work-life balance, and growing professional stagnation
Also - the role turned out to be quite different from the job description. The position was presented with very ambitious expectations, but in reality the work was focused on completely different tasks than I originally expected
