The hiring process at Deel takes an average of 5 days when considering 2 user submitted interviews across all job titles. Candidates applying for Backend Engineer had the quickest hiring process (on average 5 days), whereas Backend Engineer roles had the slowest hiring process (on average 5 days).
I went through a total of four interview sessions and one test for the position. The process felt quite lengthy and somewhat repetitive. Many of the questions asked across the interviews were nearly identical, with the only major difference being that each session involved someone from a different department.
After spending a month completing the interviews and passing the test, unfortunately I did not receive an offer and the final response also came from a no-reply email address, It's disheartening given the time and effort I invested.
Feedback for improvement:
I recommend simplifying the interview process by reducing the number of sessions to a maximum of three, with each one having a clearly defined and distinct agenda. Additionally, I would appreciate receiving a personalized response with clear feedback on why I wasn't selected from a real person rather than an automated email, especially after committing such amount of time and effort for the interview.

Question 1
Self introduction, past experience, strength and weakness
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Deel (Washington, DC) in Mar 2025
Interview
Pretty straightforward but clipped and a bit short. Felt like they didn't want to give me any time to ask questions and just wanted to move on. I felt that I had applicable experience but was unsure of what they were looking for.

Question 1
Detailed overiew of previous role and responsibilities
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deel in Jun 2024
Interview
Interviewers did not really want to be there and it was obvious. They sounded bored and understanding what they were asking was difficult. Interview lasted for like an hour or so.
