Interview
Never made it to the first interview. I was contacted on another platform. I wasn’t looking for work but after the outreach and then expressing how eager they were to meet me and how impressed they were with my experience, I thought it would be good to meet and see what they were about and what they were recruiting for and see if a change would be beneficial for me. Concerns started right away. Responses from the person always came after 9pmPST which means they were emailing me at midnight their time. Red flag #1. It took 3 days to even get a response about when to have the interview and how after inquiring about it vs them initiating it and offering their availability. Thursday evening I was asked to meet that Friday at 1pm EST which was 10 am my time (I had clearly told them before I couldn’t meet before 1pm pst because I had prior obligations to my current clients) and sent me a direct number to call. I got the message at 8 am PST and responded I’d make it work. However, about an hour after I got called away for a family emergency. I emailed the contact immediately that I would need to reschedule and why. They said no worries, that I could do the interview later in the evening after 5PST, or on the weekend. Red flag #2. But, still figured I give them an opportunity after handling the current emergency. Unfortunately, an immediate family member had passed away. So, I couldn’t get back to them until the following week. When I did, I explained what happened and that I’d be able to meet with them the week after if they would still like to. They read the message but never responded. I waited a couple of days, reached out again and was ghosted again.
Thankfully it turned out this way after reading all of the reviews from current and past employees experiences. The red flags of them wanting to meet on the weekend, late at evening, and communicating after 9pm all seem to be a normal and expected thing. It seems like they have no balance or respect of personal boundaries. Ghosting is so disrespectful. Communication is key. If my personal event was cause for not wanting to meet or move forward, fine. I understand. But don’t ignore the person you were heavily persuing and close out the loop. Don’t promote high quality of service and respect to clients and employees and then do the complete opposite.
Straight forward, quick response. The interviewer was always communicating the status of the process. It was really transparent. First you have 2 interviews after that a home assignment. Then you get to interview with the head of your region and finally the director of the area
