I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Discover (New Castle, DE) in Dec 2015
Interview
First interview 10 minutes on the phone.
Second interview was very similar to the first except your given these flash cards that are used to describe which are most like you to least like you.
The interview was about 30 mins but I felt as tho the person interviewing me was rushing and was trying to hurry up and get out of there (My appointment was 5:30 in the evening). You also are required to take an IQ test which is timed and also a personality test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If a customer calls and says they lost their credit card what do you do.
I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Discover in Dec 2015
Interview
I applied online and received a phone call the next day, then I had a face to face interview with the recruiter and hiring manager the day after. They told me I would get a response on whether they would extend their offer by the following week. We'll the day after the face to face interview I got the offer. They're base pay is very competitive and I was given a good start based on my experience. The face to face interview was actually very fun. They have a card game with they use to learn a bit about you. The background check is very thorough. But it's worth it. The benefits, accommodations for employees is phenomenal.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Discover (Riverwoods, IL) in Aug 2013
Interview
Easy. If you have an advanced degree from a good school and/ or technical skills (data analytics) then the company works hard to get you. I did have to negotiate my salary. Got $10K more than the initial offer. HR wants talent but at below market price. Therefore, you as a candidate have to make an argument for your asking salary.
