I was first contacted by an HR recruiter who found my resume on Monster.com and asked to check postings and apply for a position. I applied for the Project Manager position and was contacted about 3 days later to take a Rembrant Personality Test (this test is just basic questions, nothing to stress about!)
About a week later I was contacted by the same HR representative and asked to set up a video interview. This took forever to actually set up because the HR representative was terrible at responding to my emails. I had to email her 3 times over the span of two weeks to actually get it set up.
The video interview is a breeze! Its basically an Epic employee asking you questions about your resume, personality, etc. I really enjoyed this interview and learning more about the company.
They said that I would hear back in a week, but I heard two days later that they wanted me to take a "Skills Assessment", which again took weeks to set up. I was very nervous about this test with all the things I have read about it. Due to the NDA that you sign when taking the test, you cannot reveal much about it!
I will say that it was the hardest test I've ever taken in my life, but seeing that I've never taken a programming class in my life, I am not sure how they expect you to pass a programming test. I think it is a little ridiculous that they expect you to pass an intense programming test, when the position has nothing to do with programming at all.
The second test was a math/logic test, short and very simple. A total breeze!
Don't waste your time studying for this test..you either know it or you don't.
It took almost two weeks to hear back from them that they had "moved on with other candidates", which I assumed would be the case knowing that I bombed the test.
I think Epic is a great company, and I would have loved to work for them. But, I think that they are going to miss out on a lot of great candidates due to the test.
Overall, the interviewing process took a month and a half.
