Phone interview, followed by a variety of computer tests. Tests included a personality test, math assessment, and English assessment. This was followed by an in person interview. Multiple candidates were interviewing at the same time, though the entire process was conducted one-on-one. A case study was included in the interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The most difficult question was a case study which aimed to see how one would approach an average day where there are multiple problems competing for your time. It wasn't hard, but it was the hardest.
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Nov 2011
Interview
I applied just for the hell of it. Seemed like good and meaningful work, but I wasn't sure Epic was the place for me. Was applying for a position as project manager, but they redirected me into a problem solver application. Had a quick phone chat with someone in the department, very straightforward. Then two weeks later, sat for a few exams. Didn't hear back for a long while, though I didn't really show interest during that period. Eventually heard back that they would go another direction.
Overall, the process was not difficult just rather inefficient. Initially I was exchanging e-mails with a bunch of people and I felt the whole process could have been streamlined.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Epic (Milwaukee, WI) in Oct 2011
Interview
The interviewer asked about general questions about my back ground, most challenged project you worked on and etc. Like most interview questions others posted. Felt I did ok.
Then a rejection email 2 weeks later..
