Interview
I applied online and I was contacted via e-mail to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was very basic just to answer work preferences, questions about Madison,WI area and some resume questions. Nothing too alarming. On-site interview was not offered.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic
Interview
Applied through school received an email about a phone interview shortly after. The first step was a standard screening phone interview. After the interview I was asked to take a 2-3 hour exam which was fairly difficult, especially the coding section for somebody with no previous experience. Two weeks after taking the exam I was told they had moved on with other applicants.

Interview
Phone interview was pretty basic. They just ask a little bit about your background and your experience on your resume would be a good fit, but be prepared to answer a few questions about how you found out about Epic and a what you expect to get out of it. The next step is an exam with a number of logic based math questions and a verbal section. It's very similar to the SAT/GRE. There's also a section with a fake programming language that's pretty challenging. If you do well, they'll invite you an onsite interview. I really feel they're missing out on some talented individuals by basing it all on an exam score. Onsite you take another exam, give a presentation, talk to a few people from HR and the department you applied for.
