I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in Jan 2016
Interview
I was contacted the same day I submitted my application for a phone interview. That was about 30 minutes to talk about my resume with a software developer. Then I had a 3-hour technical assessment of 4 basic algorithm questions and a section about learning a new programming language. I was then flown on-site for a 5-hour day on their campus, including a tour, lunch, and three interviews - explaining a project I have done, a case study, and HR.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Epic
Interview
First a non-technical phone call with general questions about past experience and projects. Then a timed and proctored electronic skill assessment with coding questions. The maximum was 3 hours but they said they'd take into account how fast I solved the problems. Since the assessment was electronic, there was no opportunity for asking questions or receiving hints.
