I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Expedia Group
Interview
Applied through the Expedia website. Recruiter e-mailed the next day and we arranged a phone interview for later in the week. After positive call we arranged a follow on call with the hiring manager. After the second call I followed up with the recruiter for some feedback and never got a response. I waited a week and followed up, again with no response. Like most candidates who spend time preparing I expect at a minimum a yes/no after the initial stages. I had heard positive things about this company, but this experience left me feeling a little underwhelmed.

Question 1
General questions with regarding experience related to the role.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Expedia Group (Gurgaon, Haryana) in Jun 2015
Interview
I recently appeared for interview for position of SDE-1 at Expedia Gurgaon. The interview process is very lengthy and long at Expedia. They try to think they will become Google or Apple by creating a lengthy recruitment process, which is fake. The interviews were quite easy and I guess the engineers at Expedia did not know have that sound technological background. Some of them were even not interested in taking the interviews. It was not expected from a big company like Expedia where interviewee comes 1 hour late and take the interview for just 5 minutes. Anyways, It consists of 4 F2F rounds and 2 Telephonic rounds. AFTER WHICH I GOT SELECTED. AT expedia, the recruiter expects you to do all the work and follow ups.
At expedia, the recruiter and HR are very careless and would not do any work/follow ups. It is the duty of the candidate to regularly follow up with HR on the process, otherwise they will just FORGET your process and reject you. They even don't have any experience in scheduling the interviews.
THE RECRUITER AT EXPEDIA ARE SO DUMB THAT THEY WILL KEEP ON OFFERING YOU LOWER SALARY THAN YOUR CURRENT.
I got the offer for SDE-1 role, and Recruiter told me that he will release the offer letter soon. I forgot to follow up with him for a week. After a week, when I called him up and asked him for the status, he told me he has offered the job to some one else. HE was "EXPECTING THE CANDIDATE TO FOLLOW UP" on the job offer letter. May be he was "EXPECTING THE CANDIDATE TO ISSUE THE LETTER AS WELL" (SARCASM).
Anyways, the recruiter than offered me another role at another team and asked me to appear for a couple of interviews more, which I denied because I was not impressed with the company's behaviour/seriousness in recruiting people and I did not wanted to waste more time on such a stupid people's company. THE RECRUITER WASTED MY 2 MONTHS.
My advice to Expedia is "TO HIRE SMART ENGINEERS, FIRST HIRE SMART RECRUITERS."

I applied online. I interviewed at Expedia Group (London, England) in Aug 2015
Interview
By far the most ridiculous and disgraceful behaviour from a high profile business, I applied for the position online, received an email to say I would be contacted about a phone interview, then 2 days later I receive an automated email to let me know I had not been successful. This is just another example of a badly formed and led recruitment team who don't engage with candidates correctly and prefer to deal with people from behind a computer hidden away.
what a shame such a business has to endure such internal issues.
