The process took 1 day. I interviewed at FedEx in Jan 2011
Interview
Supplemental applications are used to determine who gets an interview. It isn't strictly seniority. The more FedEx computer systems you have knowledge of the better. The interview asks a lot of questions that pertain to station and courier ops but most are really just common sense but phrased to include the lingo. Besides being a phone interview, it was also a panel interview. It feels strange to speak and have them be writing your answers but once you get the rhythm of it it becomes easier.
When answering make sure you include your past experience. For example say something like 'when I was a handler I had to run the versus reports and make corrections so I can use that skill to interpret the onroad productivity reports.' Just as long as you also mention that you communicate, communicate, communicate. Try to use that in each answer as well. Most of the questions were of the 'tell us about a time you...' variety.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
If your manager or other visitor, a courier on the road and a phone caller all needed your attention at the same time, how do you prioritize them and why?
Questions were asked that were job-specific to being a dispatcher. One was asking for the definition of a non-productive stop and how you determine the status and what you do about it.
