The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments in Oct 2008
Interview
The interview was fairly informal. There were questions on my resume and other qualification oriented questions. I ended up meeting with three members from the group including a hiring manager. Overall, it was a painless process. None of the questions were overly technical, and centered more around fit.

Interview
For a recent MBA grad fresh out of school - There was an initial interview with HR, 1:1 interviews with 2 senior analysts / portfolio managers and then a modelling / valuation test.
The interview with HR was very casual. Asked about how you keep up with the industry, motivation for switching careers etc.
The first 1:! was a stock pitch and the interviewer went into details of the stock. The second one was more like a case where the interviewer asked questions about the retail industry and how I would analyze it etc. Both were good interviewers - gave me time to think and tried to help me get to the answer when i did not.
The final test was to make a stock recommendation. They gave me the stock and its financials and I had to reason out my decision.
