I loved the fact the decision was not left to just one person. The interview panel allowed a group of people from different positions within the organization to ask questions about my background and skills. I think it's effective because it allows the people you will be interacting with a say on who comes on board and the applicant a feel for those already there.

Started with the initial HR screening and later Technical round with a panel of 3 to 4 HOD's. Later salary negotiation and other terms & conditions. After all the discussions they took almost weeks time to confirm
