I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Google in Sep 2018
Interview
I could say it is the best interview process, they were very organized, respectful and professional, first there was a screening phone to talk about the job description. then first interview was with hiring manager and senior HR.

After applying I was invited to take part in a phone interview with the company, mainly consisting on some personal questions, and touching on the job itself. Did not get asked for a second.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2018
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for a phone screen. After the initial call I proceeded to a phone call with the hiring manager. After this was invited to an on-site interview where I had four, 45 minute, interviews with various people on the team. Hiring manager moved me forward to hiring committee but was ultimately rejected. Hiring committee is a complete blackbox and you will never know the truth of why you are rejected. It's completely out of your control and you have no say in how the committee evaluates your candidacy. Don't get your hopes up if you make it to hiring committee it's basically a lottery at that point.
