I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Google (Istanbul) in Nov 2013
Interview
one phone interview with an HR employee, then one round of on-site interview with managers. The process took 2 months. If you are applying for industry manager position, expect to hear questions of "how can you convince a marketing director of a company to spend more on Adwords/ Youtube?"
I applied online. I interviewed at Google (Singapur)
Interview
I was called up by the recruiter to see if I was still interested in the role and then set a time for the interview. The interview was done on location. A week after the interview the let me know the result (which was negative)
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Jakarta) in May 2012
Interview
1. A Google recruited manager, who is based in Australia, contacted me by email.
2. After a couple of back and forth emails, she set up a phone interview to get a good sense of my background and what I am doing back then. She also explored my interest outside the scope of work that I was doing back then e.g: hobby, passion in other areas, family, and achievements that I had in the past.
3. She scheduled two 1:1 interviews (one with a person in Mountain View and the other with a person in Singapore, whom I will be working directly for the position offered). She gave a pretty good summary on what to expect from those two interviews.
4. Apparently, the schedule was mixed-up as the first call that I got was from the guy in Singapore, thus caught me by surprise as I had prepared myself for the other session.
5. Questions asked on the first interview:
a. Current job
b. Google product knowledge, especially on how Adwords and Adsense works
c. Why digital is better than conventional media
d. Case study question: What will I do if I were given $1million to increase market share for a local operator in Indonesia
6. The second interview with a guy from Mountain View went pretty much the same as the first one, with the only difference is the case study question: What will I do if I had given a several outdoor billboards in a commercial area in Jakarta to increase the audience reach compared to digital initiatives.
