I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at H&M (Hialeah, FL) in Jul 2016
Interview
I applied the same day the jobs got posted online, that same day I proceeded to go to the store and submit my resume. They checked it and asked me to come in less than an hour for an official interview.
I went through it smoothly, doing the usual interview questions for a retail establishment. I was interviewed by two managers, both of them were very nice, but the second one had more situational-based questions, therefore more complicated. They did the background check, which took 5 day to complete and called me for a second interview the next week.
This is where it gets interesting. It was basically a group interview to which they referred as "assessment center". I was with other 2 people and it was intense. We had a total of 3 activities, that consisted in 1) Role-play, alternating characters of costumer vs employee, while at the same time constructing and kids' clothing display. 2) Which consisted in teamwork vs individual work, in which we had, as a group build in the middle of a table a LEGO!!! castle with different pieces and instructions to the castle. Apart from that, we all individually had to build a tower with specifications as well as tall as it could be. All at this AT THE SAME TIME, and ALSO while we threw a tennis ball at each other without letting it drop to the floor. And I can't stress enough, I am completely serious... 3) the last one was simple, writing a review on the other group member on what they did right and wrong.
Ant the end they told me that I would receive and answer in the following 1 - 2 weeks. This is written the day after the interview.
