I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at HSBC (Edinburgh, Schottland) in Sep 2015
Interview
Comprehensive competency question session with peer level, intense but good thought provoking questions. Interviewers very competent and seemed to follow a high internal standard, with what appears to be close liaison across other managers and different departments. Environment seemed busy but ordered within a new office set up. All employees from reception on seemed very professional and happy in their work.

Question 1
What process change have you previously been most proud of?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at HSBC (Los Angeles, CA) in Dec 2011
Interview
it was surprisingly too short & easy. recruiter calls for phone interview and then sets face to face interview with hiring manager. met with hiring manager and then was presented with an offer.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at HSBC (Kolkata) in Oct 2014
Interview
Structured process. More focus on skill tests. Process includes technical knowledge, inter personal and communication skills. Written test followed by case study. Finally there would be the personal interview which would be mostly taken by the senior management guys to rate you. Then follows the offer roll out.
